1. How long and under what circumstances have you known the applicant?
The applicant was studying in Aviation Transport College of Shanghai University of Engineering Science from 1999 to 2003. I was the vice principal of the college and also his teacher during that period of time. Since then, I’ve known him about 8 years.
2. Compared to others in a similar capacity, how would you assess the applicant’s talents and strengths? How would you assess his or her weaknesses, and in what ways can he or she improve? Please include specific examples.
He left a very deep impression on me with hard work from the beginning. The major reason that made me list him as the top students in the class lied in his self-confidence and strong sense of responsibility which represented not only in his study life but also his participation in school activities. For example, in the debate competition, he excelled others with a full display of his powerful analytical and creative ability and a good performance which convinced me of his potentials in management.
Impulse is a major characteristic of young people, he is no exception. I think the best way to improve this is through the accumulation of career experience, and I believe after five-year work in business, he must have been much better.
3. Please comment on the applicant’s achievements, motivation, and potential for achievement in the MBA or MSIM program and for long-term success in a managerial career.
He is a positive person and had a good relationship with his schoolmates at university. He was able to organize interesting activities like Christmas party which turned out to be an unforgettable experience of all of us. His capacity of analytical thinking and creativity was absolutely the best among his fellow students in the University.
4. Describe a specific project that the applicant led or in which the applicant played an important role. What were his or her contributions?

In the middle of his junior year, the students union of our university organized a plane model competition. The applicant helped the union to get a sponsor of a model magazine. The competition was a success and awarded with a prize of “Top 10 Model Activities by Undergraduate in Shanghai”. The applicant had played an important role in this activity by being a contact between the Students Union and the sponsor.
5. How would you assess the applicant’s oral and written proficiency in English, if English is not his or her native language?
To be honest, I think his written English is better than his oral English, which I can tell from the result of his English test. But because of his good adaptability, I have faith in him that he will catch it up very soon after he joins the English speaking environment.
